Apollo Bay is known for its world class seafood. One of our local recommendations is The Fisherman’s Co-Op where you can sample fresh fish and chips while looking out over the harbour, bay and rolling hills.

Grab your trainers and head out on the Great Ocean Walk. Extending East to West, the Great Ocean Walk is a long distance trail which is just over 100kms between Apollo Bay and the iconic Twelve Apostles. The walk also overlooks the Marine National Park which offers access to deserted beaches and shipwreck sites.

SPOT THE WILDLIFE

Can you really say you've been to Australia if you haven't seen a koala? These cute guys hang out in the trees right by the hostel. Home to a variety of wildlife, you can also find wallabies, kangaroos and more here in Apollo Bay. There’s also a tonne of marine life in the area, with Southern Right whales normally being found between May and September each year.
